The idea for this website originated after becoming frustrated at being able to find no end of exterior views of Kent churches. But few interiors where the true character of a building is often gained. I am therefore trying to use interior views. Most of the photographs on this site come from old postcards. May not present the church as it is today.
This includes transcriptions of 19th century Directories, Census, and Memorial Inscriptions, Photographs, Articles and Book Reviews, both of my own, and of others. Transcriptions by other researchers are included with their kind permission. The Development of Local Registration Offices.
But I read the first chapter, and already knew this would be a very different post. I actually had to put the book down and read something else for a few days because it felt too real.
